overall length is 36.1/2",  The blade is 25.1/2" to the notch. has visible hamon , no bad flaws, one small nic in the edge about 8" from the tip. overall light scratches and some staining. The tang has 3 holes, dark brown almost black patina. copper habaki. The
handle is the early Army officers type with a brass d-guard that has a silver mon or crest on the back strap. very good same`. Has blue brown army officers tassel attatched. The saya is fully covered in polished ray skin that is in quite good condition, Correct army fittings on each end and the fitting just up from the end, but has 2 naval type hangers, ( saya is clearly the correct one for the blade ) as is the handle. possibly a naval officers that later became Army or vice versa. Overall a old blade in hard to get mounts. locking button missing but could have been removed .
