Antique Japanese civilian mounted sword, overall length is 38" , the blade 24.3/4" , the blade is in good condition with visible hamon and grain, no bends or cracks or edge nics. only some light scratches. single hole un-signed tang, looks to be a shin-shinto period blade. the original handle is very tight leather binding over same and looks to have never had menuki, fuchi-kashira are iron , the tsuba looks to be a showa period iron one, black lacquered saya with iron fitting to each end, some missing lacquer and possibly had a leather combat cover for ww2 use, all parts fit tightly .
