Antique Japanese Samurai Kabuto This is a very impressive Japanese Samurai Kabuto. Four (4) iron plate bowl with central raised ridge and a vertical peak over the eyes and bold eyebrows. The crest is in the shape of two plain feathers and is gold lacquered leather. Six-tier neck guard. Re-laced years ago in Japan in white lacing. Original lining and cord. This Kabuto is in good overall condition, it dates the the late Edo period or around 200 years old. Comes with a Japanese made wood stand to display it on. The Menpo is a good match for this Kabuto it is black lacquered iron with white leather lacing, inside lacquered red. A good quality mid-Edo period one.
