This is a very rare and complete Japanese Army WW2 Trench Periscope,  The periscope it's self is 2-pce and 26.1/2" long overall but extends to 33" . The wooden handle has a metal screw thread fitting to conect it , adjustable eye piece has markings for +5 and -5 , black painted brass tube body with adjustable top optic that has makers name and 5 X 10 , and is numbered 5478. The optics are good with no damage and it works properly. Comes with the correct green painted aluminium case that has a metal plate on the lid with date 1942, also the case is numbered 5478 same as the periscope. inside has wooden protection with seperate covered compartment for the handle, inside of the lid is padded with leather and is in good condition. the case also has the original webbing carry strap . case size is 4.1/2" wide x 2" and 18" long. Overall condition is very good with only minor wear marks to the periscope and the case . a very good example of a rare piece of Japanese Army equipment.
