Antique Japanese Samurai Kabuto Very impressive Japanese Samurai Kawari Kabuto, or Unusual Helmet. Black lacquered iron plates with large lacquered dragons on each side, maedate or helmet crest holder on the front. Five (5) stage lacquered iron neck lames with dark blue lacing and orange and multi colour lacing around the edge, inside of the peak is lacquered red. Original hemp lining is good and has red silk neck cord. Overall a very impressive Kabuto with all the helmet made of lacquered iron plates. Total height is over 20". Dates to the Edo period , around 250 years old. Comes with Japanese made stand to display it on. Price $8800 AUD
